The Falcon Inn

A lovely old building in the centre of an attractive village. Furniture and decor generally of very high quality, in a tasteful, gently modern style. Staff helpful in a relaxed way. A magnificient breakfast

On a cold evening, the room had been recently aired but nobody had thought to put the heating on afterwards, which felt unwelcoming on our arrival (though was speedily rectified). The table in the room was small and the lighting with unshaded filament bulbs difficult to read or work by because of glare. The shower required some patience and pressure was not very high.

Everything at the Falcon is so good. The location is terrific too. Our room had an excellent view of the churchyard with its beautiful Yews.

Just great relaxing staff

Nothing

A lovely old building with lots of character. The room was well appointed and the bathroom was lovely.

The road noise was so bad, I hardly slept all night. The windows are old and single pane and the road is right outside, meaning every car, motorbike, bus and lorry sounded like it was in the room. The window was covered only by a thin blind but really needs a thick lined curtain at the very least to at least try to diminish the level of noise. This was supposed to be the best room in the hotel (The Suite) but guests should be pre-warned about the noise - I would have happily moved rooms just to get a decent nights sleep.
