Property in need of maintenance as well as mouldy appliances etc.
The location was in the centre of Reeth so very handy. The views, when you could actually see them(But had to go out of the property) were stunning
The property is in a rundown state as well as needing serious thought if you have young children to keep them safe due to the hazards stated below.
Firstly, the extremely small kitchen (disproportionally small for the 5 this property states it is suitable for) does not house the freezer, dishwasher or washing machine. They are housed in the external garage that stinks of foul drains and damp. The garage contained belongings that were nothing to do with the rental agreement as well open black bin bags with rubbish in. The freezer had black mould on the door seals as well as being frosted up. Needless to say we didn’t use the dishwasher with the foul smell every time you went into the garage, given the fact that it shared the same open standpipe as the washing machine, the state of the other appliances and having to carry the crockery backwards and forwards in a plastic tub between the external garage and the house. It feels that this set up was just to tick a box to say a dishwasher was provided rather than being truly usable.
The plastic drainer on the draining board in the kitchen on our arrival was filthy and we had to clean it before use. One of the tea towels supplied was also dirty.
The bay windows in the downstairs living space (living room/dining room) and the bedroom above were so dirty on the outside it was impossible to see out when the sun shined which was a great shame as that was where the views were.
The back porch showed signs of water ingress on the ceiling.
There were several light bulbs that were not working on our arrival, including the landing which were not accessible without a step ladder (not what I go on holiday to do). I could understand if one went whilst we were there but they had obviously not been checked before our arrival.
The downstairs toilet is situated outside and was not in a clean state. There is also plain glass in the top of the door meaning that there would be no privacy if you did decide to use it.

Good house, nice village.
Great location in the heart of Reeth with nice pubs and shops in the village. Easy to find parking. property was clean and full of charm.
