NICE VIEW, unit needs some repairs and a deep cleaning

The unit was quiet and had a nice view. The kitchen had what I needed to cook most any meal. The unit has three bathrooms and a bath tub. The furniture was adequate and there were plenty of night lights. It was an easy walk to the beach with a nice walkway.

The unit is not as secure as I would like. There is a door down some stairs inside the unit that leads to another apartment that is not secure. They put a baby gate across the stairs but there is no DEADBOLT or SECURITY on our unit's side to lock out other people in the lower unit. That did not feel secure. The floors and throw rugs were not cleaned when we arrived. Usually the towels and bath rugs are folded and placed in a spot for the renter to put out when they arrive. The throw rugs were on the floor and had NOT been washed. They were obviously old and used. When I washed the dirty green upstairs bath mats they changed to a light green pretty color. I had to spend my first day of vacation cleaning the rugs and floors. The floors were not too dirty but the mats were gross. The windows of the unit are blown out and cloudy. The windows did not open easily for the sea breeze. If you were not a handy person you would not be able to open any windows in the unit. The windows did not have screens for bugs. The big slider in the living area did not have a screen. There are stairs to get to the unit and stairs in the unit to get to the bedrooms. We knew that and that is not a problem for us but for many people it would be a lot of stairs. There was no reading lights in the living room. There was no hot tub and the pools were not warm enough to swim in. The rules were too much. They threatened to fine us for this and that. We always leave our units in good shape and start the laundry for the housekeeping crews. That is just the kind thing to do. In this unit they were very direct and threatening about check out and lights and heat etc...... Trust me, we left this unit way better than we found it.
