This is a real pearl of old classic hotel. I felt almost as on of the gust Austro-Hungarian Empire. Remarkable bright hotel manager Mr, Sebastian keep the place like a diamond from the past, with a remarkable knoweldge and history Gasthof Elisabeth is the original building where Dr. Josef Schreiber, a Jewish smart business man, founded his first medical spa in Bad Aussee in 1868. In short, here is the timeline: • 1868: The Jewish physician Dr. Schreiber establishes the healing institute here, attracting the Viennese elite. • 1877: The property is sold and renamed Bade-Hôtel Elisabeth (after Empress Sisi). Dr. Schreiber moves to the town center to build his second property – the famous Hotel Erzherzog Johann. Today It operates as a traditional Austrian guest house and restaurant named Gasthof Elisabeth (at Altausseer Straße 26), run by the same local association for over 100 years.

Its a really nice and old house, walking distance from the centre of Bad Aussee. The room was warm and spacious and the breakfast was good.
I didn't mind having communal showers, however there should be some shampoo, shower gel and a hair dryer to use.
