Stay was OK but unpleasant ending with the landlady
The overall stay was ok. The apartments were very clean though the house and furniture are quite old. The smaller apartment was actually a semi-basement with low ceiling.
Picky landlady with no empathy. Don't expect to get any help from her. BTW one has to pay in cash.
This is the first time we felt we were not treated as guests during the stay but had to obey - though we live in Germany for more than 10 years and know very well how and what to do. These were still understandable and we did keep everything tidy and clean.
Before we checked out, she checked literally everything and counted all pots/pans, tableware, mugs by claiming that it happened that previous guests had stolen some - come on, who would like to have these old stuff... felt insulted and disrespected, but we did not complain and just wanted to leave soon.
Then the most unfriendly part came - we were two families with 3 kids staying there, upon leaving my friends have left one bag in the kitchen due to rush - with some food, a portable coffee machine and some small kitchen tools inside. We were not called by the landlady earlier even we were the whole day still nearby skiing in Winterberg. My friends realised the missing bag only after arriving home. Then they called the landlady and kindly asked her to ship the bag back, (un)surprisingly she wouldn't do that - though there is a DP shop quite near from her house. She said she had no responsibility for it. OK fine then my friend said they would make an appointment with DHL for the pickup - they also sent the DHL label with QR code to the landlady and notified her and she agreed. BUT - when the postman came he could not pick the box up because the landlady wouldn't show him the QR code or anything, which could only be done from her side. The postman left with nothing. She claimed afterwards that she wouldn't show anything or do any further things but only handover the bag to somebody. We totally could not understand this - because similar things happened to us before, all the hosts we met were so friendly and were willing to help. We finally gave up on the bag and lost the DHL postage too. Speechless.

Awful experience
The host was very unwelcoming and unpleasent. We booked the stay after using the booking filter "pets allowed", we got there and realised thet pets are not allowed. We offered we leave and ask booking to settle things up but she demanded an absord amount to be handed by cash for the "cancelation". From this point on she made us feel very uncomfortable. Did not assist us when there was technical issues with the appartment and was insulting us. In the end we decided to cut our vacation short because we did not want to stay at this atmosphere.

Voortreffelijk verblijf.
