Comfortable stay in a great location

Great location, comfortable room, easy check in, great communication, free parking

It was all fine, but perhaps a little light on for cooking utensils.

7 / 10

Small, simple and good location

Great location, well equipped kitchen, has a washing machine and drying rack.

Curtains/blinds were not blackout so lot of light all night! Quite small but ok for a few days. Balcony too small to sit out on. Apartment is locked by a code (no keys) which could be difficult to remember.

7 / 10

Convenient location, handy kitchenette, though a bit on the small side

Very convenient central location, with a handy kitchenette to cook your own meal during a short stay in Andalsnes (we took the train there & back the next day) and so some laundry. The host also kindly allowed us to check in early on this occasion, which was kind.

The room is a bit small, and some kitchen areas / appliances could have been a bit cleaner. The rest of the place was OK.

8 / 10

Decent little apartment in the centre of Åndalsnes with free parking.

Free parking. In the centre of Åndalsnes pretty much. Amazing views even from the hallways outside the apartments. Clean. Excellent water pressure. Good communication from host. Usable kitchenette with decent little fridge. Nice having codes instead of keys for access.

Slightly awkward entrance to find but fine once you've found it. On third floor so quite a lot of stairs which is a bit of a pain with suitcases, just be aware if you're old or infirm. One of the flights of stairs for some strange reason has the stairs slanted at an odd angle (I don't know why, there is no reason for it and none of the other flights of stairs are like this), this can be quite confusing if you're not paying attention or are carrying stuff in front of you and can't see well, the stairs are much thinner on one side than the other, I nearly stumbled but was OK in the end, but yeah, watch out, haha! There isn't really much room to put anything in the apartment as it's very small, good use of space with what's there but yeah, very tight, so if you open up a large suitcase on the floor you'll have to close it up again before you can walk around. The setup we had with the beds (2 singles pushed together, annoying, but that seems to be Scandinavia pretty much all over for some reason, quite rare to find proper double beds, it's weird) was a bit awkward as one of the beds didn't have a proper headboard or even a wall to leave against, but I fixed this by putting one of our suitcase behind it wedged between the bed and the wardrobe, haha, it worked quite well! It's quite expensive for what it is (Norway all over is though), especially since I noticed that the Grand Hotel in town was only about 40 dollars (about 24 euros) more expensive for the same couple nights we stayed (if booked direct with them, it through an intermediary) but that might have been just because April is shoulder season, perhaps during busy periods the hotel is much more expensive, I don't know.
