Great location. If the AC was working it would have been very comfortable

The location was great and the apartment is spacious. Celeste, the person responsible for the cleaning, is a very good professional.

The air conditioning wasn’t cooling the air, and behind the apartment there’s construction and trash and sometimes it smells bad, which forced us to close the windows, thus making the apartment even hotter because the AC was not working properly.

Be careful with payments! They try to overcharge you!

Nice accommodation with a balcony in a fairly convenient location in Santa Maria, though about a 25-minute walk from the town center. The shared pool is lovely, and the washing machine is a great plus.

The front door had been forced before and would only close if we pushed it with all our strength. The stovetop was not very clean. We had the possibility to make coffee, but there was no coffee in the pantry. So we had nothing to cook with, such as salt and oil, which are usually provided in all apartments. In fact, we gave up cooking at home because we would have had to buy all the essentials. There was a washing machine, but there was no detergent for laundry or for cleaning the rest of the house. Considering that no one will come to do the cleaning, keep in mind that the apartment will remain dirty. VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION. Air conditioning costs 5 euros per day and was located only in the living room. Luckily it wasn’t too hot and we managed to sleep well even with it on only in one room, but keep that in mind because in Cape Verde it can get very hot. If you decide to pay by card, additional fees will be applied which, considering the price of the apartment, your bank’s fees, and the exchange rate, could add many euros to the final price. The host asks for a 20% PayPal payment of the total price to confirm the apartment. Do your calculations carefully because the prices shown are in CVE, but you will have to pay in your own currency, and they asked me about 20 euros more than the real amount. The terrible experience was on site when we had to wait for the convenience of a person who came to collect the total amount, which prevented us from relaxing during an excursion and from enjoying the day. When the person arrived to collect the payment, she asked for a price about 30 euros higher than the one on Booking, insisting that we had to pay tourist taxes which were clearly included and specified in the Booking price. We spent about two hours with this person in the apartment, who spoke poor English and used Google Translate to communicate so that she could report to her boss. I absolutely refused to pay the extra (it was the second time they tried to cheat me).
