About this house rental
Il Sole del Sodo is a little paradise nestled in a village in the Tuscan countryside, just waiting to welcome, host, and amaze you. You enter by opening the wrought-iron gate, and the coolness of the stone, the plants, the flowers, and the sofas and antiques scattered throughout the garden will immediately give you that “home away from home” feeling.
From the front door, the small sitting room with a fireplace is on the left, while on the right is the “Pastaia” room—so named for an old piece of furniture that now holds various items but was once used to dry pasta! Today, it is a large and spacious dining room where guests can enjoy moments of convivial serenity.
Also on the first floor is a new and comfortable kitchen equipped with everything a good chef could wish for in terms of kitchen tools.
A staircase made of “pietra serena”—a stone typical of the Cortona area—leads to the first floor, where the sleeping quarters are located. Each room has been designed around a different theme, making each one unique.
At the rear of the house, surrounded by greenery and olive trees, is the private pool. Shielded from prying eyes and not visible from the entrance, its unique location ensures plenty of sunshine, peace, and privacy. The outdoor flooring is made of teak, which does not heat up in the sun, allowing you to walk barefoot or sit by the pool and on the ground without the risk of getting burned.
The villa is just a 5-minute drive from the historic center of Cortona.
