Amazing staff, the hotel’s restaurant is superb.
I’ll surely come back again soon.

Location and staff
One room was very small but all shorted out as staff took an action.

The Gatsby is in a great central location in. Athens, a close walk from Syntagma square. The rooms have the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in (the most important thing for a hotel stay). The maintenance of the rooms is first class.
The staff are friendly and superbly helpful. The barman makes excellent cocktails (the best Negroni I've had).
The breakfast and coffee provided need improvement to make the stay perfect.

What I liked
* Excellent location, close to great restaurants, galleries, the Acropolis and so much of what makes Athens worth exploring.
* Very kind and welcoming staff.
* A lovely, comfortable room with a very comfortable bed.
* Having a restaurant and room service was a real plus.
* A well-stocked minibar — something that is surprisingly far from standard.
What I didn’t like
* The main disappointment was maintenance, particularly in the bathroom. The shower drain was partially blocked, with water almost overflowing onto the bathroom floor. The rainfall showerhead was so clogged with limescale that water sprayed in different directions, making a relaxing shower difficult.
* The bathroom floor was badly worn in places, while the metallic shelves and fittings were discoloured and covered in limescale. Beautiful at first glance, but noticeably tired up close. In a five-star hotel, I expect the bathroom to be spotless and impeccably maintained.
* I raised these issues with the staff, who were very kind, attempted repairs and offered a voucher for a drink. I appreciated their response, but the problems were not fully resolved. This felt like accumulated wear and inadequate upkeep, possibly compounded by finishes that are difficult to maintain, rather than a one-off housekeeping lapse. It needs proper attention beyond a goodwill gesture.
