The room was incredibly cosy, clean, surrounded by lush greenery, with a breathtaking view that I honestly don’t think I’ll ever forget. And the breakfast was simply impressive, with an incredible variety of options.
A special mention goes to Akila, who made me feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make everything seamless, from check-in to making sure breakfast was there on time, to being available for a ride to drop me to a restaurant or arranging my tuk-tuk for departure.
The hotel is a little outside the town centre, and getting there involves a 5–10 minute walk along the railway tracks. But that’s actually part of the Ella experience, and quite a fun one!

The balcony looks over a beautiful waterfall, The location is a bit off the beaten track so it's very quiet at night. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast at the property was very tasty.
Room is quite basic, bathroom is more like a wet room, there can be quite a few ants.

Rock Grand View was our favourite stay in all of Sri Lanka.
We stayed in room 603 which has a spectacular view of the waterfall and a spacious balcony to enjoy it from. The room was very nice and to a high standard.
Ramesh was extremely helpful getting us acquainted with the area and breakfast every day was excellent.
Our stay was incredible value for money and we couldn’t recommend this place enough.

We had a wonderful stay here! The waterfall view from the property was absolutely beautiful and made our stay even more special. The food was delicious, and the breakfast was fresh and tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they arranged a taxi for us to Mirissa, which made our journey very easy and convenient. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ella! ❤️
