Fantastic outside, terrible inside. Disappointing overall.

The cottage has a fantastic view over the sea and beautiful lawn. Supermarket, restaurants and beach are not within walking distance, but close by car. The cottage has a nice terrace where you can enjoy the sun setting behind the mountains.

I am writing this review mainly to warn people about the red ants that live in the beautiful lawn. After my husband and I walked barefoot through the grass, we had over a hundred red bumps on our feet. Then we saw the red ants. It itched terribly for 10 days and pretty much ruined our holiday. So be very careful if you have children, do not let them play in the grass. The house was not properly cleaned. The cutlery and plates still had food on it from the previous tenants. This is probably because the dishwasher is not working properly. There was a lot of limescale in the bathroom and the pool edges have turned green. But the worst part was waking up every morning with dozens of woodlice all over the floor. I understand that it is a rural area, but sealing the holes and cracks in the house can also reduce this problem. It can also vary by season of course. So if you don't like insects, stay away from this house, at least in September. The host is terrible. Instead of solving problems, he sees every complaint as a personal insult. He gets angry quickly. The electricity went out several times due to two wires touching each other. We sent Castro a video of that to prove it. But even after seeing this video, Castro concluded that this was "impossible" and said the problem was that I was using too much electricity at once, but only the outside light was on! He blames the tenants when the problem is that he has poorly maintained his electricity. He did solve the problem the next day, but the contact was very unpleasant, which made us feel very uncomfortable staying in his house.

The villa is situated about 20-minutes walk from the edge of the town on the hill above Motril and is a perfect spot for lazy days in the sun. It is an ideal property for a couple or a couple with one or two small children.

There were some problems with the electrics, but these have been reported.

mehr abenteuerlich statt entspannend

Der Schlüsselüberbringer war sehr nett und freundlich und pünktlich.

Fast sämtliche bodennahen Fenster ( Schiebefenster ca. 120x100cm) waren nicht zu verschließen. Sie wurden mangelhaft montiert, es fehlten die Bolzen zum Verriegeln. Im EZ am unteren mittigen Bereich des bodentiefen Fensters kommen die Kriechtiere ins Haus da dort auch mangelhaft abgedichtet wurde... Ameisen und sonstige Tiere... wir hatten einen Hundertfüssler der meiner Tochter nachts über das Bein lief aber glücklicherweise nicht zugebissen hat - die Kameraden sind richtig giftig...Küchenplatte sehr improvisiert und schlecht gestrichen. Kühlschrank neu und top, Spülmaschine ebenfalls. Bad mit Regendusche und abenteuerlicher Silikonierung, roch modrig aber durch Lüften und Duftöl erträglich... Wasserablauf des Waschbeckens war verstopft und floss sehr langsam ab, wurde durch ne Flasche Rohrfrei aus dem Lidl aber leicht behoben. Pool sehr klein aber zum abkühlen ausreichend. Wenn man nicht genau schaut könnte man dirt tatsächlich entspannen... wir hatten das Problem mit den nicht verschließbaren Fenstern mitten in den Bergen über der Hafenstadt mit ordentlicher Kriminalität... Die Fenster wurden am Tag vor unserer Abreise repariert (bis auf das Küchenfenster...) bedingt durch die Osterfeiertage war wohl kein Handwerker schneller zur Stelle... Für die Strecke von der Stadt bis zum Haus sollte man gut Auto fahren können, insbesondere Rückwärts... es gibt auf den 2,5 km nur sehr wenige Möglichkeiten dass zwei Pkw sich passieren können... aber recht viel Verkehr durch Baufahrzeuge und Bauern/Anwohner
