Sold a dream stay, experienced a nightmare

I liked the unrealistic information I was sold.

Overall rating: 2/10 Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. We chose this apartment because of the advertised facilities, but only after arriving did we discover that the lagoon and swimming area were under renovation and unavailable. This was not disclosed before our stay. The apartment also had several cleanliness and maintenance issues. We found wet towels hanging in the bathrooms, black mould in the shower, oil-stained pillowcases, dirty curtains, a greasy stove, unclean spare blankets, and broken or damaged furniture. The blankets also appeared not to have been washed, and despite using them, we were still very cold. We also experienced ongoing problems with the hot water. We switched the geyser on as instructed, but the water only became slightly warm. We waited nearly two hours so that we could bath, especially with two young children, but the issue was never properly resolved. I reported the wet towels and other concerns to the host via WhatsApp on the day we arrived. Although assistance was promised, the towels were never replaced during our stay. Communication was slower than expected, and important information, including the R400 per hour late check-out charge, was only sent to us on the morning of our departure. I also paid a R1,000 breakage deposit before check-in, and I am currently disputing deductions that I believe are unfair, including what I consider to be an excessive charge for one broken sugar bowl. Overall, our experience did not meet the standard we expected from a Booking.com property. The pictures shown on booking.com are absolutely overated. It is not anywhere as nice as advertised. I hope these issues are addressed so that future guests have a better experience.

It was clean and safe but not all the things we needed were there

They advertised game and when we got there there was no games ..you actually pay for them but they didn’t state on booking when we looked for a place ..secondly there were no paper towels no air fresheners in the toilet no hand soap no foam bath but the empties are there like yoh that pissed us off

it was clean and nice. The furniture was top tier.

The TV shows we’re not playing at all besides 4 channels. There was load shedding for 6 hours.
