Rehan’s communication in English was perfect, and she was always quick to respond. She and her husband gave us the warmest, sweetest welcome and made us feel genuinely at home while introducing us to the beauty of Nubian heritage and hospitality. One of the highlights was the homemade food. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at a very reasonable price, including moussaka (baked eggplant and tomato dish), mahshi (vegetables stuffed with seasoned rice), and filo pastries filled with cheese and meat. Breakfast was equally lovely and authentic, with lentil and fava bean dips served with bread, fresh tomato, cheese and cucumber, and eggs. On top of everything, Rehan even prepared a takeaway breakfast for us when we had to leave at 7 am for an excursion. Such a thoughtful gesture! She is very flexible with your food requests too. The accommodation is a two-bedroom flat with beautiful windows overlooking the Nile and a lovely garden with Nile views. We had the entire flat to ourselves, and it was equipped with a kettle and fridge and more. The location is also very convenient: just a five-minute walk from the Nubian Museum and a short inDrive (Uber) ride to downtown Aswan. If you’re looking for more than just a place to sleep, this is the accommodation to choose. Staying here gives you the opportunity to experience genuine Nubian hospitality, discover the local culture, enjoy delicious home-cooked food, and support the local community directly.
