We really liked it overall. The location was amazing and it had everything you could need.

The link is easy, but keep in mind many tourists have no internet access. It was hard at first because we had NO way of getting access to the place. We had a random guy share cellular data for us to be able to get it.

The toilet and the sink were loose and it was scary to use them because they felt like they would break off in a second.

The room was very spacious and we loved the balcony. The staff were very nice and responsive. Great location!

Great location, comfy place with a few key drawbacks.

Location Kitchenette with all you need for a quick meal. Balconette with view for people watching over very lively square full of restaurants and terraces. Soft bedding and decent towels. Comfortable bed Plenty of equipment including drying rack, loads of hangers iron and ironing board. Some of the furniture is beyond its sell by date and the place needs a good tart up with a lick of paint but this is only minor.

I have graded our overall stay a 7 ( 1 point deduction for each negative point below), as we had a great time visiting Madrid. The location is tops! Even with the noise below and generally we were comfortable. But the notes below should be carefully thought through if you’re thinking of booking. 1. Ridiculously over the top entry system. NO KEY AT ALL! Mobile phone only. You will need data and battery and a clear head on arrival. You get the instructions for entry on the main door as well as your room door on their well polished MIT house App (which doesn’t reflect the slightly shabby mid-low end pension house). This entry system caused anxiety throughout keeping our phone topped up and faffing about with a keypad and a phone at the same time as opening the information on the app. Thank God I had data… my husband didn’t so quite a chore. Kept thinking if my phone gets nicked we’re up the swanny. I suggest leaving a key in the room as a back up. Anyhoo, moving on… 2. Issues around mobility. The mit house apartments are on the 3rd floor… up a very old wooden spiral staircase. No lift. Thankfully my husband and I are mobile. BUT it’s not for anyone with mobility issues or any kind of health problems. Also if you are a larger person, you’ll struggle in the TINY bathroom. Sideways sitting on the toilet as knees don’t fit in the space as the wall is soooo close. Think slightly worse than a Ryanair flight 😂. The shower was also small but the hot water and good pressure made up for the fact that you could not pick anything up off the floor if you dropped it. 3. The smell of garbage is at times overwhelming. In the entrance there’s a bin which was full when we arrived but then emptied which improved things a bit but the communal hallway into the MIT but still has a garbage smell. Thankfully the smell is NOT in the room. So once you’re in the place is fine.
