I liked the staff and the location. The hotel has a unique charm, the top flour rooms have a super view of the harbour and the sound of Bressy.

Although the hotel is old and has a faded grand charm, it is rather care worn. Best not to stay here with a critical eye for detail. Enjoy the location.

Excellent location, very friendly staff, great cooked breakfast, historic building; my turret room had a wonderful water view

Because it’s a listed building, it’s difficult for the owners to make improvements (red tape). And like on most of the island, the wifi comes and goes due to the weather (high winds).

Breakfast was really good - bespoke cooked breakfast, lots of nice cereal and fruit juices, although we had to tell the staff that the grapefruit juice had gone off. Location couldnt be better, right in the heart of Lerwick's harbour area. Staff were super friendly and efficient, especially the manager.

This hotel was due a refurbishment about thirty years ago and the quality of the furnishings and equipment of the room we had was poor. Threadbare carpets, a TV dumped on to the dresser that was far too small for it. No reception area, no gym, I could go on.
