Loved the cabin, had a great time visiting local attractions including Wildlife Safari. We would definitely stay here again.

This was our second 3 day July 4th weekend at Firewater, and unless our group grows beyond its capacity, we will try to maintain that tradition. The family that owns the cabin (I communicate with Jon) really went above and beyond this time so that we could check in the day we wanted rather than the standard 24 hours between one group checking out and another checking in! They told us that things may not be up to their standards due to same day turnaround, but I’m a very picky person about hotel / rental cleanliness, and if something was missed, I couldn’t find it!The expansive and flat lawn is great for games, morning yoga or exercising, and the lower right corner just above where the two streams merge is a perfect place to mediate. Some of us spent the days hitting the local wineries, but I spent it enjoying the creek behind the house. If you rent the cabin and have short lawn chairs, bring them! They’re perfect for sitting waist deep in 10 Mile Creek that runs behind the house. The indoor kitchen and grills are fully equipped. We made everything simple breakfast sandwiches and hamburger/hotdog meals to steaks, grilled chicken, a full southern-style country breakfast, and from scratch lasagna and Italian garlic bread. One thing to keep in mind when choosing which main bedroom you’re sleeping in: upstairs is a good 20 degrees warmer. To make the upstairs comfortable, the downstairs bed needs all those amazing blankets. Until next time!

The lodge was amazing. The location is very quiet and the evenings out on the back porch were amazing. It is stocked with everything you would need to make your stay enjoyable.

Our extended family came in for a UCC Graduation and this house was perfect. Everything was well stocked and clean. Any cooking appliance or tool was there as well as some basic seasonings and condiments. Lots of wineries close by, we went to one that was just 6 minutes away. I reached out to the host for a few requests the morning of our check in and I received an almost immediate response.

Modeled after a historic wilderness log home, our family cabin is a blend of modern and rustic architecture running on geothermal energy. Featuring 25-foot vaulted ceiling, the main family room offers a relaxing lounge perfect for a wine hour. This beautiful log cabin is truly an unforgettable retreat. Nestled in the heart of Umpqua Valley and resting on the banks of a babbling creek, you will be overwhelmed at the stunning sights and sounds this location has to offer. “The Cabin”, as we call it, has been a family treasure for almost 15 years! Perfect for hosting family vacations, group retreats, or a couples getaway.
When you stay at the cabin, you will not just be enjoying the custom-designed, ethically harvested timber home our father dreamed of building, but also the many activities he enjoyed. Hike, taste wine or craft beer, fish, hunt for mushrooms, go panning for gold, and catch crabs on the Oregon Coast. All activities are close enough to the cabin that you won’t be more than 1.5 hours away.
