Welcome to The Moorings, a beautiful holiday home with a nautical theme, located in the heart of Rhosneigr. Sleeping 12 guests, this spacious accommodation is perfect for family or friend groups looking for a relaxing getaway just a five‑minute walk from the beach.
Upon entering, a light and open‑plan hallway greets you, with wooden floors adding a contemporary feel to the interior. The ground floor features two sitting rooms. The main living and dining room is furnished with two comfy leather sofas, a TV, a log burner for cosy autumn/winter stays, and a dining table for eight guests. Large bay windows and patio doors leading to an enclosed terrace area provide a perfect indoor‑outdoor dining experience. The second snug living area is an ideal space for a children's den, furnished with comfy leather sofas and a log burner, making it a cosy spot for kids to watch TV while adults enjoy an after‑dinner conversation around the dining table. The super spacious kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare family‑sized meals and includes a corner breakfast table with chairs and a cushioned bench, perfect for chatting while preparing meals or involving little ones in meal preparation.
The Moorings has flexible sleeping arrangements to suit various needs. On the ground floor, there are two double bedrooms, one with an additional bunk bed, and a family bathroom complete with a shower over a large bath, toilet, and sink. This setup is ideal for guests who have difficulty with stairs or families with younger children who prefer to stay on one level. Upstairs, there are three further en suite bedrooms: a master super‑king bedroom with a walk‑in wardrobe and two twin bedrooms.
The property boasts various enclosed patio and terrace areas around the property. Patio areas can be accessed from the dining room and kitchen, and a grassed area connects the two. The Neighborhood:
Rhosneigr (said: ROSS-nigh-ger) is one of the most dog-friendly villages on Anglesey. It's a foodie haven, a watersports mecca, and somehow packs bars, restaurants, independent shops and golden beaches into one small stretch of coastline curving round the village. Whether you're a couple, a family three generations deep, or bringing a dog who's never seen so much sand, it works.
It's on the pricier side, but one visit shows why. Two stunning beaches wrap the village, Traeth Crigyll and Traeth Llydan, the surf's some of the best on the Island, and the food punches well above its weight. Mornings belong to the water, with Funsport or Gecko Surf on the seafront covering surfing, kitesurfing and paddleboarding for all ages. Evenings bring cocktails, fresh food at the Blue Olive, or the Sandy Mount House or fish and chips from Scarletts on the high street, eaten on the beach or back at the house.
Getting Around:
Rhosneigr is best explored by car, with free parking available at the property and throughout the village. The nearest train station, just 5 minutes away at Ty Croes, connects you to Holyhead and Bangor

The Moorings is a lovely family house with beautiful furniture and a lovely private wraparound garden. The bed linen and towels were all clean, soft and very white and we all enjoyed our holiday there. Plenty of parking for four cars and different areas of the property where you could find a quiet spot, a sun trap or somewhere to hang the washing out!
The only thing I'd mention is that when going in a multi-generational holiday group it didn't work for us personally. After paying for the house I had hoped to have the large bedroom upstairs but the stairs proved a problem for my husband who suffers from Parkinsons - he needed a handrail he could get hold of for the whole length of the stairs and the baby gate was too much of a trip hazard for him to negotiate several times a day so we relegated ourselves to the family room downstairs!
Re cleaning the house, I'd have liked a better vacuum cleaner. The present one (I think he was called Henry) is very heavy to take upstairs and smelled very strongly of dog. And I had complaints from the family about the thin curtains or blinds which didn't block the light. Holiday in June, expect to be wakened around 4.30 am - although the teenagers upstairs didn't seem to notice.

We had a fantastic stay at The Moorings. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the beaches, which made it ideal for a family getaway. The Moorings had everything we needed and the arrival hamper was a really nice touch.
Rhosneigr was lovely - Great coffee at Notos, Fish & Chips was delicious from Scarlett’s.
We’d definitely recommend it and would love to return.

We had a pleasant stay at the property overall, and it suited our needs well.
During our stay, the toaster failed and tripped the fuse. We reported this to the letting agency, and it was replaced immediately, which we appreciated. We also reported that the grill was not working, but to our knowledge this was not repaired during our stay.
The kitchen crockery and appliances were generally adequate. However, the induction hob did not perform well when all four rings were in use at the same time. We were also surprised that some of the pots and pans provided were not suitable for use on the induction hob. In addition, the knives were quite blunt, and the frying pan was not in particularly good condition.
We also noticed that the outside light in the back yard was constantly on and flickering, and we were unable to find a switch to control it.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and thank you for your prompt response to the toaster issue.
