The location was great, in the old town and easily walkable to everywhere I wanted to get to. It wasn't at all noisy, perhaps because I was visiting in October. (But yes, there is a box of free earplugs at the reception desk.) I arrived during the limited reception opening hours so had no worries about the self-check in process, but I did see the key lock boxes and I'm sure it would have been fine. I got there a little earlier than the official check in time and was allowed to check in anyway, which I appreciated.
I chose this hostel largely because of the "pod" style dorm beds and they were exactly as I'd expected, giving that bit of actual privacy that takes a lot of the pain out of staying in a dorm. My dorm was on the top floor and had nice views over the square. The locker under the bed was large enough to hold all my stuff and let me spread it out a bit so I could find things relatively easily, without having to leave things lying loose on the bed or crammed up in my bag or in a more traditional tall and narrow locker.
The showers were clean and always had hot water.
The kitchen had free instant coffee and teabags, along with a filtered water supply.
The blue bird in coloured glass at the top of the stairwell is very impressive to see in person.
On the top floor there are two male showers in one bathroom, which does seem a bit odd. If the hostel had been busier this might have been more of a problem, since any male taking a shower occupies the only bathroom. Nothing stops you using the showers on the other floors though.
It would have been nice to have a small shelf on the wall in the "pod" near the socket so I could leave my phone or a power bank charging on it during the night while I was sleeping, instead of having to have the device being charged on the mattress where I might roll onto it or knock it.
It is a long-ish walk up the stairs to get to the hostel, but it's not that big a deal.
It didn't feel very sociable, but that's maybe more a reflection of my visiting in October than this particular hostel. I didn't see that many other guests, even just to say hi to.

Location is central to the old town, the bed was comfortable, everything looks clean and tidy. I feel safe to stay here. Hair dryer just located in easier access manner.
The washroom and bathroom are shared between female and male. It could be little hanging place in the washroom to place cloth/towel and toiletries.

- The curtains and "boxes" offer some privacy.
- Quite clean.
- Not too much noise after 11pm. I think it's just the law here. So even if the room was street side, the street noise wasn't bad. That was on a Saturday night.
- Not very comfy beds. Although I had worse in hostels. A bit hard and thin mattresses.
- 2 passcodes for the entry doors, 1 for the key box, and 4 keys needed.
- Common areas are depressing. Small and not adapted to meeting people or just chill after the day walking around.
