Felt very welcome, and having breakfast in the cafe area was very pleasant for someone on their own. The location was very good for
all local amenities.
Nothing that I can think of.

Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)
The room was immaculately clean, generously sized, and exceptionally comfortable, easily exceeding expectations. Guests consistently praise the spotless presentation, modern amenities, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere created by Carla and her team. The bed was comfortable, the room well‑equipped with thoughtful touches such as tea/coffee facilities, bottled water, biscuits, and complimentary toiletries, all replenished daily.
One of the standout features is the beautiful river or estuary view, which many guests describe as a highlight of their stay. Even rooms closest to the station report minimal train noise, making the location both convenient and surprisingly peaceful.
The room’s historical charm, combined with practical comfort, creates a unique experience. Reviewers frequently mention how the property blends its railway heritage with a cosy, homely feel. The Whistle Stop Café downstairs adds to the appeal, offering excellent breakfasts with varied choices and consistently high quality.
Overall, the room delivers exceptional value, combining comfort, cleanliness, friendly service, and a superb location. It’s no surprise that guests repeatedly say they would definitely stay again.

Staff were great! Room was comfortable. Good location - walking distance to the town and easy access to trains / local taxi service.
Would have appreciated shampoo and conditioner in the shower.
