About this house rental
If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, don’t hesitate to contact us: the small surrounding plot of land (where you can pick and enjoy seasonal fruit straight from the trees, such as figs, cherries, almonds, prickly pears, citrus fruits, etc.) offers absolute tranquility. Rural house with well-maintained bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a fireplace; one master bedroom, one twin bedroom, a secluded single bed, and, if needed, a sofa bed in the living room. Heated by a pellet stove and air-conditioned; the courtyard is adorned with colorful plants and features ample parking. The property is fully fenced and monitored for security purposes. Elevation: 170 m. In the immediate vicinity is a natural watercourse that was abandoned due to the construction of the Lucanian dams; it is now teeming with wild vegetation, including Mediterranean scrub, blueberries, blackberries, etc., as well as wild vegetables, mushrooms, and asparagus.
To get there, take State Road SS7 BR-TA and exit at Ceglie Messapica-Francavilla Nord. Then, 4 km along Provincial Road SP26 toward Ceglie Messapica, you’ll find a small church and a war memorial next to a traffic light—and from there, you’re almost there. About 2 km away, there are two restaurants and a pay-per-visit swimming pool.
The Adriatic beaches (Blue Flag-certified Ostuni, the magical “White City”) or the crystal-clear Ionian waters (Maruggio, etc.) are about a 20–30-minute drive away.
Within a few kilometers, you can visit not only traditional farmsteads where they sell authentic local products directly to the public, but also caves, the typical Messapian “specchie” (watchtowers dating back several centuries before the Roman Empire), and, of course, the many civil and religious monuments in neighboring towns, as well as the regular services held in the nearby little church.
The estate covers a total area of approximately 10,000 square meters, which includes not only the house in question—which is completely self-contained and independent—but also the farm buildings adjacent to it. For guests, there is a spacious courtyard framed by colorful plants, a parking area, and, surrounding it, centuries-old olive trees with trunks exceeding 2 meters in diameter, almond trees, prickly pears, and many fruit trees (cherry, fig, pears, apricots, etc.) that (depending on the season) guests can taste by picking them themselves. As for the prickly pear—a delicious fruit that ripens in July and August—there is an abundance of it, so much so that guests are welcome to take some home as souvenirs, free of charge.
