Mooie accomodatie, geen last van de dichtbijzijnde trein. Eenvoudige, maar comfortabele kamers. Heerlijk ontbijt. Ongeveer 10 minuten lopen naar het centrum.
Je hebt geen persoonlijk contact met de eigenaar of personeel wanneer je in de middag aankomt. Dat is geregeld via o.a. een cijferslot. Het ging allemaal prima, maar het voelt toch vreemd om de volgende ochtend de deur weer achter je dicht te trekken en te vertrekken.

La ubicación, las vistas desde la habitación, que se puede aparcar cerca, el desayuno, sencillo y bueno. Tiene minibar, aunque no cierra la puerta muy bien y buen wifi
La cama no era muy cómoda, las almohadas bastante bajas, si podéis, llevaros la vuestra. La TV se oía doble, por lo que mejor tenerla apagada. La mujer del hotel, demasiado seria
con que hay que dejar la habitación a las 12 o antes, porque la necesita para los siguientes, cuando apenas habíamos puesto un pie dentro. A la mañana siguiente lo volvió a decir a la salida del desayuno…

The rooms are simple, but spotless! The view was lovely. Very nice breakfast and helpful, friendly staff.
On weeknights off season we had to travel a bit for a meal.

This needs a considered response! Tom Tom couldn't locate it although google maps could. we needed a stop-off point from the Santander Ferry. Last year we booked only to find somewhere else at the last minute. Couldn't remember why. Of course, you are close to the Royal Palace of Madrid. Not much use to us as we were driving home early next day. You need to stay two nights - (highly recommended) to visit this monument. Monday was not a good day to arrive as most bars/restaurants were closed. We found one, however, that gave us a magnificent meal of baby lamb chops, the cost of which made our bank manager burst into tears! Our bedroom, while small, had adequate on-suite facilities and the bed was comfortable. No aircon.
From the outside, it seems as though we might be in a farmyard as a flock of sheep, bells ringing were brought home about 22:30. Animal faeces everywhere. The 2* hotel is just about OK. Perfectly adequate and amazing value for money. Breakfast was basic and just got us on the road. Valsain is a pretty miserable place.The cost made this place a worthwhile overnight stop. The Parador is up the road!!
