We really enojoyed it execpt for the problem with the toilet but that wasn’t a major issue

Dreadful lack of organisation

Location was good a short distance from a supermarket and adjacent cafe, that we have used many times in the approximately 8 years that we had been going to Olhos de Agua

Original email from Booking.com said collect keys from a bunch of digits, with no street number, street name or town.. I worked out that the digits represented an Albufeira Postal Code. I was concerned that I would have to get a taxi to and from Albufeira to collect keys. After some exchange of emails through Booking.com I was told that keys would be left in a mailbox adjacent to the site, with a digital lock, and that I would be given the combination the day before my arrival. Combination to open mail box was already displayed but would not open on the jammed lock. I phoned the only number I had for Sunny Deluxe the owners or agents, a mobile phone, and was immediately cut off. This was repeated 5 or 6 times. I sent email to Sunny Deluxe requesting that they phoned me direct on my mobile phone. When their rep. phoned I explained the mail box lock was broken & jammed therefore could not be opened, whether the keys were in the box or not. She said she was a long way from the address of the flat, would not be able to get there, suggested we should wait in the cafe in Intermarche supermarket. I said I was phoning from there & knew the supermarket & cafe. She said she would phone a rep. and get them to meet us in the cafe and handover the keys, & could not say when. After about 2 hours she phoned and asked where I was, because her rep could not find me.. I said that I was in the cafe as agreed with her earlier. I walked to flat in the pouring rain, leaving my wife & our luggage in the cafe. When I got to there I could not find anyone, walked around & was on my way back to cafe when a Portuguese lady who could not speak English got out of a car and approached with the keys. I got her to show how to open external common entrance & internal flat door & showed her the broken lock on mail box. With translation app on her phone she explained that she had reported broken lock to Sunny Deluxe.

Disappointing

The location

Not enough towels provided fir a weeks stay Bathroom could do with some attention- mould around the edges and ceiling Broken drawer in the wardrobe Not enough bed linen Water damaged press under tge sink in the kitchen Torn curtain in main living area No key to the gate beside the supermarket. We paid over €1000 for the accommodation, so I would have expected more for tge price.
