This peaceful retreat in the Lake District is a detached former farmhouse dating from the 18th century, with a floor area of 120 square meters and a large, natural garden (3,200 square meters). The owners renovated the house with great attention to detail and a focus on sustainability. As part of the 2015 renovation, the old beams and clay-plastered ceilings were preserved. The house features a kitchen-diner, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (shower or tub), a large living room with a princess bed in an alcove, featuring French doors leading out to the terrace and garden, a fireplace room, and a seating area in the covered lounge with a view into the distance (or the starry sky). The house is designed to be barrier-free. The spacious property also features several seating areas spread across the large grounds, where you can relax at any time of day depending on the sun’s position.

From the hallway, you’ll enter the open-concept kitchen-living area with a dining area and a view into the fireplace room, which features a cozy reading nook with two armchairs. The bright and inviting living room adjoins the fireplace room, featuring a sofa arrangement, a second TV, sweeping views of the countryside, and a princess bed for a fifth person. The first bedroom features two single beds, a closet, and a TV, along with an adjoining bathroom with a walk-in shower and a toilet. In the second bedroom, you’ll find a 1.60 m wide double bed, a nightstand, a closet, and a clothes rack, as well as access to the bathroom with a tub and toilet. Wi-Fi is available. All furnishings are new and modern, yet the space also features a selection of restored, vintage, yet stylish pieces of furniture.
