The host was absolutely amazing. He went out of his way to help us find the apartment on arrival, advice on where to park, offered advice on restaurant bookings. And gave us a tour of the historical cave house.
The location is outstanding as it's right in the Sassi area.
Apartment was comfortable for our one night stay.
Be prepared for lots of stairs. This wasn't an issue for us, but you need to be aware.

Great location, clean, comfortable and spacious. Great shower. Very quiet. Interesting reception information by the landlord who remained engaged but not intrusive.
Stairs up to appartments could be an issue. But this was the Matera experience.

Our host Giuseppe is one of the very best we have ever encountered in our travels. He met us at the rooms and gave us a 30 min brief introduction to the interesting history, the caves and underground cisterns in Matera. He also took us down into the cave below Piano Piano. He was generous with his time and also recommendations for places to visit and eat. Giuseppe really made our stay in Matera. The room was very comfortable and in a great location.
Nothing, it was all so good.

Unique location, plenty of history, architectural details.
Fridge facilities were very small, making it difficult to store a couple of things we brought with us.
