“Great location, but disappointing standard for the price”

The location is definitely the biggest advantage of this property — it is excellent. However, considering the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard.

Unfortunately, we are unlikely to stay here again. The location is definitely the biggest advantage of this property — it is excellent. However, considering the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard. At first glance, the property looked clean, but once we started using the kitchen, we discovered that the dishes and cutlery were dirty and greasy, so we had to wash everything before using it. For four people, there was only one tablespoon and two small teaspoons. We also found dirty dishes left behind by previous guests. The bedrooms were slightly better, although the cleaning around the corners and windows could have been much better. In the bunk-bed room, we found a tablet on the floor and a sock behind the bed. Thankfully, our dog didn't find the tablet first. The living room was disappointing. The furniture was very mismatched, the sofa was extremely small for four people, and even the curtains were different. Overall, the property felt poorly maintained and more like a collection of random furniture than a comfortable holiday home. We were also disappointed by the number of additional charges. Even arriving just one hour early costs an extra £30, while two hours costs £50. We were also reminded the day before check-out that leaving belongings after 10am would incur an additional charge, with a minimum of £25. We travel around Scotland quite regularly and understand that early check-in cannot always be guaranteed. However, we have rarely experienced so many additional charges, especially when the accommodation itself was already quite expensive. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not feel like good value for money. The location is great, but the cleanliness, maintenance, facilities and overall standard did not meet our expectations. We would not choose this property again.

Fantastic location and easy parking

Doors were all very stiff and sticky so very loud when trying to close one. Door into kitchen is a bit of a nightmare as no way of getting into the fridge unless you manoeuvre around it. Weirdly only 1 dessert spoon and no hoover. Our double bed slates were also undone so had to do a middle of the night rescue of then
