Love York, loved the location and ease of parking

Location was perfect.. a short walk into town, lovely view of the wall at the back. Quiet at night, comfy living area, felt secure. We received a lovely little welcome bag with the beat tea and coffee

Very underwhelming property, which is a shame as the location was great.

The only real positives were the location, which is excellent, and the kitchen, which was well equipped and had everything we needed.

Sadly, our stay at this apartment was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The property felt very basic and in need of some care and attention. The cleanliness was not up to standard. There was dust throughout the apartment, along with spiders and cobwebs in the corners of the master bedroom and hallway. This immediately gave the impression that the property had not been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. There was also a hole in the duvet cover in the master bedroom, and the rug did not fit the room properly, constantly curling up against the bed and wall, and on top of that it felt unpleasantly damp to the touch. One of the biggest frustrations was the sleeping arrangements. The listing did not mention that one of the beds was a pull-out bed, and despite the hosts knowing how many guests would be staying, the bed had not been prepared. Having to make up the bed ourselves after travelling was not what we expected. The photos in the listing also showed net curtains, suggesting there would be some privacy during the day. However, these were not present when we arrived. The curtains in the master bedroom were very poor at blocking out light, and the room became unbearably hot at night. My husband ended up sleeping on the sofa because of the heat. A fan would have made a huge difference, especially as there is no window that can be opened, only a door. The bathroom was another let-down. The extractor fan was extremely noisy, and stayed on for a long time even if you were only using the light. Worst of all there was an unpleasant sewage smell coming from the bathroom throughout our stay. This apartment has the potential to be a lovely place to stay, but it needs some investment, better maintenance, and a much higher standard of cleanliness. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not choose to stay here again
