Not worth it

We stayed here because it was close to a wedding venue we had to go to, so location was decent. Breakfast was good.

Not a single staff was there to help us check in. We stayed outside in 39 degrees for a half hour before someone pulled up in their car. The room looked new, but smelled old. There room was pulled together like someone who never has been to a hotel before. The bed frame was against a door (with key in it) that led to another room and you can tell that their bed frame was up against that door too. You can hear every conversation in the other room. The washroom mirror was set so high, I couldn't see my face (I'm 5'4), you would have to be at least 5'11 to see your face. The blow dryer started smoking up the room when I tried to use it and I asked for another and never received it. Lastly, pool was filthy.

Horrible.

The architecture

The staff. Screaming and vaping in the restaurant. One of the women was dressed like a hooker. Disgusting.

Hmmmmm….

I liked the historic building and fresh food for breakfast

The property is totally overgrown. It screams someone getting in over their head from the moment you arrive. There are vacant buildings and some signage that direct you but not appropriately so that it’s very difficult to even understand where you’re supposed to check in. In addition, when we arrive, there wasn’t a single staff person to be found to help us check in. Once somebody showed up, they were very helpful, but there was no orientation or explanation of what we should expect other than what time dinner and breakfast would be served. Just a few more things to note as I don’t want to go into so much detail that no one will read it… If you are at all bug averse, do not book here. As one should expect, it is in the country and with ancient buildings, critters get inside. One final comment….I find it unacceptable to not be able to access coffee before 8:30 AM, which is the case here. There are no coffee machines in the rooms and you cannot access the coffee machine yourself or request a coffee in the breakfast area before 8:30.
