A FISHY, tiring, disappointing stay! You can do better!
The condo looked exactly like the photos and was decorated very nicely. They have done a great job with the decor and it felt very comfortable.
FISHY refrigerator! I spent the first 2 days of our vacation cleaning the refrigerator because there was a HORRIBLE fish smell from the previous renters. The Vacasa managers came to give it a sniff test, of course, he smelled nothing! Right! Our kids would yell "ugh! fish" every time they open the refrigerator! For the whole week! The smell was so bad that it permeated all of our groceries like our fresh fruit, ice cream, and other items not in glass or plastic containers. So we had to throw out all of our groceries! They came to clean it, so we bought a little more food, but the smell returned. We had to toss that food too! So, we spent our vacation eating out and eating out of cans and bagged food. So frustrating and such an interruption to our vacation. We spent a lot of money to go there and stay in that condo, but I never thought I would pay $2,000+ to clean someone else's refrigerator!
We have been going to HHI for 30+ years and usually stay in Palmetto Dunes. The past few years we have stayed in Shipyard, but this was our first experience using the shared beach access provided by Shipyard. It was overcrowded, and we were unable to park despite having a parking pass. I would have to drop off the family, then return to the condo and ride a bike back to the beach access. Not very ideal and a really big hassle when we were ready to leave the beach because I would have to ride the bike back to the condo, get our van, then drive back and pick up the family. So tiring and not how I wanted to spend my vacation, being a non-paid uber driver!
This trip had promise, but it was a huge fail. Vacasa didn't seem to care. I am sure my texting interaction with them was an AI bot and not a real person. It had the same response every time I explained my issue. Their fix? They brought us a box of baking soda! The box that was in there smelled like fish when we took it out.

Perfect! Location, condo itself, and complex are ten out of ten!
Location is close to beach access and Coligny Center. Tons of room in the unit, clean, everything you’d need for the stay. The Shipyard plantation is perfect. Tropical feel, great walking paths, shuttle from about 1/2 mile away right down to the beach access walkway. Literally the best place we have stayed in all our years going to HHI.
