We really enjoyed our stay at Welgeluk Feather Palace and Stan and his wife were exceptional hosts. So helpful with recomemndations for restaurants and they also gave us a disount voucher to visit the ostrich safari park which is close by. We felt so welcome, we loved how beautifully restored and authentic the feather palace was. We left something behind in our room and only realised it when got back home. Stan was very efficient in sending it back to us via a courier company which we appreciated. We loved the gracious breakfast room with touches of antique silver on the tables!
There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Bernadette and Stan were the perfect hosts which included accommodating our breakfast requests without hesitation. Room and bathroom were spacious and well appointed. The decor throughout the house is beautiful and authentic. Only a short distance from the main town.

Excellent place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is excellent.
It is a short drive from town but it is easy to go for dinner. It also means it is very quiet at night.
I would highly recommend staying here. It is probably the best place to stay in Oudtshoorn.

The history of the property and the host were awesome.
Could use screens on the windows but apparently nobody uses screens in South Africa
