We absolutely loved our stay at Bairro Alto Guesthouse! The location is fantastic – right in the heart of Lisbon, with everything within easy reach.
There’s a lovely bakery just downstairs where we picked up breakfast every morning and enjoyed it back in our room with wonderful views over the city.
Another big plus was the helpful parking recommendation from the guesthouse. We arrived by car, and the suggested parking was conveniently close by, which made everything so much easier.
We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back!
Just something to be aware of: Bairro Alto is a lively neighbourhood, especially at weekends, so it can get a little noisy at night. However, that’s part of staying in such a central location, and the double-glazed windows do a good job of keeping the noise down.
For us, the fantastic location more than made up for it!

Amazing location with view over Lisbon toward St George’s Castle. In the heart of an area full of night life, restaurants and bars - but it does get noisy at night because of that. The double glazed door to the Juliet balcony blocks out most of the noise, but that means you’ll need to sleep with the air conditioning on for a bit of air.
Just something small, but a couple chairs at the window would have been great to enjoy the view.
Noisy air conditioner, it probably just needs a service after a long summer.

Great location. Easy access to facility.
The bed was hard as a rock. It was like sleeping on plywood. There were only 2 small pillows and the property did not respond to our outreach until the following day. The air conditioning barely worked.

there was mold on the walls, it was very humid in the room, very loud neighbourhood, could hear everything from the corridor and the smell inside was unpleasant, there was no storage for clothes
