The views were absolutely stunning, and the entire property is beautifully designed, with a very aesthetic atmosphere. I stayed in the Cave Suite, which I loved. The room was beautiful, and having my own private pool was a real highlight. Room service also worked well, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. I particularly appreciated the combination of an à la carte menu and a buffet, which offered a great variety of options.
Unfortunately, there were several issues that, in my opinion, prevented the experience from meeting the standards of a five-star hotel, particularly considering the high price. The biggest issue was the lack of privacy associated with the pool maintenance. Guests are informed that the pool attendant may come at some point between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m., without a specific time being provided. I specifically booked a Cave Suite with a private pool because privacy was important to me. Not knowing when someone might enter the outdoor area meant that I felt restricted in how I could use my pool, change clothes, shower, or simply relax in my own space. Having to remain alert for several hours defeats much of the purpose of booking a private pool suite. This significantly affected my overall experience, especially in retrospect. There were also several smaller service-related issues. Upon arrival, I mentioned that I do not drink alcohol and was told that a non-alcoholic alternative would be provided in my room. Unfortunately, this never arrived. On the day of departure, I had arranged a specific time for my luggage to be collected, yet the staff arrived 15 minutes late. The pool service was another disappointment. On one occasion, I wanted to order a drink, but nobody approached me, despite staff members walking around the pool area. I would have expected more initiative and attentiveness rather than having to wait and hope someone would notice. To be clear, the staff were polite and friendly throughout my stay. However, I consider this the basic expectation, rather than something that distinguishes a five-star hotel. At this price point, I would expect a more proactive, reliable and attentive level of service, with greater attention to detail.

The staff, location/view, breakfast and gym/courts were awesome.
Unfortunately, the weather was cold and unpleasant during our stay, which meant we spent a significant amount of time in the hotel. Under these circumstances, several shortcomings of the facilities became apparent, particularly considering the price tag of over €600 per night. * Unheated pools: The pools are not heated by default. Heating to 26°C is theoretically available for an additional €40 per day. However, it takes at least 48 hours to reach the target temperature. Even more frustratingly, the pools reportedly cannot reach this temperature when the wind is strong—which is hardly an unusual occurrence for a hotel perched on a cliff overlooking the sea. * Room comfort: While the room looks stylish, it is not particularly comfortable. The sofa is aesthetically pleasing but offers very little comfort. The space between the bed and the wall is also extremely cramped. For the person sleeping next to the wall, getting out of bed during the night is almost a safety hazard: you have to squeeze past a marble table with sharp edges and then remember the step in the floor to avoid tripping. Finally, the sound insulation of the sea-facing windows is inadequate. During strong winds, we had to use earplugs to sleep comfortably. * Spa facilities: Given the absence of a bathtub and a heated pool in our room, we had hoped to use the spa to warm up and relax. Unfortunately, access to the spa is only available when booking a massage or hammam package, at prices roughly twice what we encountered at other four- and five-star hotels on Crete. We went ahead and booked massages, only to be disappointed by the facilities themselves. The sauna is small, lacks even basic headrests and backrests, and has a door that does not close properly. Most disappointing, however, is the extremely bright, artificial LED lighting installed inside the sauna, which completely undermines the relaxing atmosphere one would expect.

This hotel is truly beautiful. The staff are very kind and attentive. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed our dinners at the restaurant too. The hotel looks exactly how it does in the photos.
We unfortunately had bad weather while we stayed at the Acro Suites, which is of course not the hotel’s fault. However, it was a bummer that there was not more to do at the hotel during the colder, windy weather. There is no jacuzzi at the hotel except for in the spa which you have to be getting a spa treatment to use. We did get a spa treatment and go in the jacuzzi and it was also not very warm. None of the public pools were heated, so we could not go swimming. We stayed in the cave suite and unfortunately could not go swimming in the cave suite pool because the water was too cold. It was heated to 75 F, but that was too cold to stay in due to the intense winds. We asked if they could increase the temperature, and they said they were unable to. Overall, we were a little disappointed that we could not enjoy more of the hotel’s amenities. If the weather was nicer, these would probably not even be issues.
