This place is special in many ways. First of all, the apartment itself is beautifully arranged, very clean, and thoughtfully designed on two levels, creating a wonderful space for a couple to enjoy peace and comfort.
The most beautiful part, however, is the neighborhood: the true soul of Belém and of a part of Lisbon that is unfortunatly sadly disappearing... The shared courtyard and the common rooftop bring people together, preserving a working-class heritage and a sense of belonging for those who are open to human connection and the spontaneity of everyday life.
Flowers, sunlight, cats, dogs and the simple smiles of neighbors created unforgettable memories for us and a promise that we will return - to support this place, these people, and this way of living that many of us have forgotten while living in isolated concrete spaces without real contact.
This is a remarkable example of how people should live.
