This felt like a stay back in history. It is an old pelgrims inn with a lot of history, with Tatami mats on the floor and rice paper sliding walls. There is even a house Shrine.
The shared bathroom has a great shower, and in the evening they fill the traditional wooden bathtub, which is shared by all guests. You can reserve an hour slot to have the bathroom by putting your name on a list.
Not a problem for us, but please be mindful that the stairs to the bedrooms is steep

An incredible experience, it felt like staying with friends; everyone was so welcoming and open. It’s a beautiful house with a rich history, and the people working here are absolutely wonderful. We loved every single thing about it. Our room had a view of Mount Fuji, simply incredible, and the bathroom and toilet were lovely and comfortable. There was coffee, tea, and everything else we needed. It’s a fantastic place to stay; I was absolutely delighted. It’s also great that you can rent an e-bike right there, and there’s a supermarket just two minutes away.

Excellent location, wonderful family.
The room got a little hot at times, especially with the high humidity. The AC unit would occasionally blow warm air. Opening the windows helped, but i often wished i had a small fan.

Room was large by Japanese standards. The bedroom and bathing area very clean.
Good access to start of Fuji walking trail.
In fairness, the room was part of a family household, so it felt that we were "accommodated". Finding the place was not easy for travellers without a vehicle, and it was poorly signposted on the street.
