This is more like a homestay than a hostel, which was great because it meant we could use the property more freely. The pets (two dogs and a cat) were lovely, too.
The kitchen was well equipped, but could have been a little cleaner.

This is a basic but very friendly hostel very near the centre of Vilcabamba (which is a very small town anyway). I had the place to myself with two other backpackers and we quickly gelled. And the owner even came to dinner with us!
To be honest I've never been a huge fan of dogs, especially if they're barking at you as you're trying to check into your accommodation!

Kitchen availability for breakfast, small pool.
Only one car parking spot. Not good curb appeal.

The landlady was nice and helpful.
The mattresses are old and smely.
