We love this litte town, lovely few days break, and an amazing train journey. The hotel is the icing on the cake! we have even been known to travel up for the day, just to have lunch in the very comfortable lounge after a nice walk. Mili our cockerpoo is always very welcome too,so 5 stars from us.
The thing l didn't like was our stay coming to an end,but we have plans to come back soon!

Good location and parking on site
Building works to front of hotel in the bar/restaurant area were not screened off . Impact was extremely noisy and overpowering smell of strong glue which spoiled the dining experience.

Loved the comfortable bed, lovely warm room, swimming pool and the lift was a must being on the top floor.
Everything is very ridged, there's no wiggle room for much, cant sit at certain tables at the bar area to have food after 2pm etc.
Price for the stay nearly £200 a night definitely wasnt worth it. For a large hotel with a lot of people staying the breakfast area was very small and people had to queue.
We also had problems with one of our party cancelling due to illness at the last min, I know their policy is no refund but a good will gesture of a visit to the spa or similar would of been good. It was also the attitude when speaking to the desk staff about the cancellation.
We will not be staying here again.
