Stayokay Hostel Den Haag is located close to the train station, Hollandsche Spoor, which makes travel by train, bus and tram easy.
The family room is cleverly designed with a private toilet and two showers that are all separately enclosed so that all three facilities can be used by different family members at the same time.
The view over the canal from the room is scenic.
The buffet style breakfast offers a wide choice of good quality food and drinks.
Overall, Stayokay Hostel Den Haag offers good value for money.
We did not have WiFi coverage in the family room and had to go to reception to connect to the WiFi.

The location was close to the train station. The bed was comfortable and lockers were provided. The bar and restaurant were good with comfortable seating and a nice terrace overlooking the canal.
Two guests were having a loud argument with one shouting racist comments to the other. No staff members tried to intervene. In my view, the police should have been called as it was at risk of escalating to a more serious situation.

Easy and comfortable check in. Friendly staff and the room were very clean. Beds were comfortable and had a decent night of sleep. Location is easy to reach from the main train station.

The hostel is true to its name, it is okay. The staff are helpful. The beds are reasonable. The hostel itself is clean. Lockers are decently spacious.
Some things are outside of control of the hostel, such as constant trash in front of the hostel (see photo). And the fact that the area is not a nice part of the city.
For things they can do: I visited in May and the rooms were extremely hot and stuffy. You can't properly open the windows!!! I can't even imagine what summer is like.
No fans, no AC. This is a big minus. I slept so poorly.
Another minus is the breakfast. It is 10.50 and it is absolute garbage. There are no veggies except soggy cucumbers and plastic-tasting tomatoes. So you're stuck with bread, a choice of salami or ham and the most basic cheese. Nutella, cereals are sweet. And you got some very mediocre fruit. You're better off buying all of that at Albert Heijn for 3 times less, and the cucumber won't be soggy.
WiFi is pretty bad.
And given all of that, 50 per night is steep.
But that's the Netherlands I guess. You won't have a decent choice.
