The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They understood a little English so between that and Google translate it went pretty well. The facilities were well maintained and very clean. The did have a small selection of snacks, prepackaged food in case you get hungry while you're there. Also of note is their small menu of simple foods that they cook in their hotel kitchen definitely worth trying if you missed a meal in town. They have a shared kitchen for all to use as well. Separate showers in case you didn'twant to was and get in the onsen, and onsen was nice as well.
The distance to main Fukushima is not to be understated. While there is a small community to do a few things in while there. It's really small and to get to town it's about 45 mins by bus. I think it was around 980 yen per trip to the station. The hotel offered once a day at 10am to bring whomever to the station. Definitely a nice place to stay, just keep the distance in mind. The bus schedule depending on the day of the week may start or stop earlier than you might want as well. If you find you have missed the bus the taxi ride cost me about 7k yen.
If planning to stay in Fukushima it's really not a bad place, but if your plans have you visiting other nearby towns with castles and such then please consider staying at that location for a day or two. The travel times makes it difficult to make it back on time as there's a 10pm curfew when the doors get locked.

The staff were friendly and considerate of guests working in the common areas. I was able to relax and enjoy the Japanese-style public hot springs. Although there is no coffee service, you can purchase beverages from vending machines.
The shared kitchen has hot water, but there’s no coffee service, and as of now, the vending machines only carry cold drinks, so if you’d like a hot beverage, you might want to bring your own tea bags or something similar. You might be able to order coffee when you order pizza.
