We hiked up to the refuge—it’s a hard but beautiful hike with splendid views at every turn. The refuge is a lovely mix of historical charm and modern comforts. The rooms are comfortable and the food is great! And when the last train leaves for the valley, the solitude is so peaceful.
It had no downside in my mind. But if you are the kind of person who doesn’t like remote, quiet places, you won’t like it here.

This was a wonderful and unique experience. Train logistics were simple. The location was stunning. 360 views from this classic hotel that has maintained so much charm. Rooms have been tastefully updated - shower was fantastic. Beds were comfortable. Highly recommend!
The food was just “ok” - and prices were a bit high for food and drink for what you get.
