Reception staff (Dilakshi) was very friendly, and made a genuine effort to make the stay a pleasant one including offering to areange some special food for us. The jaffna crab curry was exceptional, really reminded me of my nan's version of the curry.
Hotel rooms and furniture started to look a little tired.

The location was fantastic, the first impressions (foyer and driveway) were lovely, the food was very very good and we experienced excellent service (especially the Restaurant, Front Desk and Security).
The maintenance was terrible... the room had dirty and torn blinds, dirty/burnt lamp shades, dirty tiles in the bathroom and an ironing board that belongs in a scrap heap. House Keeping had also taken away, or not left any, cutlery or crockery in the kitchenette... thereby rendering the microwave, cooktop and sink completely useless ... negating the advertised concept of a suite ("all-suite hotel"). On the second morning, we discovered that even the sole teaspoon the suite had to make coffee, had been removed by Housekeeping. Not the experience that you expect at a hotel that charged about USD 125 per night.
