Minpaku Hiraizumi is undoubtedly the favourite place that we have stayed at in Japan. It is a beautifully decorated residential house, with a large and well equipped room for use by guests. Breakfast was excellent. The house is in a peaceful location, and is well placed for visiting Hiraizumi's temples. Above all, the hosts are incredibly welcoming and helpful. We greatly enjoyed our brief stay.

We had a wonderful time staying with the Yamadas. The experience is similar to a bed and breakfast. They have a beautiful home and you can tell that everything was thoughtfully designed. Honestly it was better than most luxury hotels offering a traditional tatami room experience. The beds were very comfortable. The home cooked Japanese breakfast was excellent too. We only stayed for one night but we truly felt welcomed into their home. 10/10 experience.

Warm and welcoming hosts, beautiful accommodation and garden, very comfortable. Convenient to the station. We holiday in Japan regularly and stay in beautiful ryokan at least once in every trip and have had excellent breakfasts. The breakfast here was among the very best we have had; taste and presentation excellent. For us, this property rated 20 out of 10
