Brilliant stay, little bit of a walk to the centre of Ubud but very doable. Lovely villa for our family of four.

Quiet location, very well kitted out, very comfortable

Enjoyed it for what it was.

Good sized rooms and pool for the kids. Also close to some great places to eat.

It wasn’t great being almost accosted by the local drivers every time you try and go somewhere.

A home away from home

We stayed at Villa Palm Kuning for 3 days to celebrate our anniversary, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The villa was spotless and exceptionally well maintained. Eddi went above and beyond by decorating our bed beautifully for our anniversary, which made our stay feel extra special and memorable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. What impressed us most was that everything provided felt new and fresh, even down to the countertop cleaning cloths. The refrigerator was generously stocked with fruits, eggs, bread, butter, jams, and other essentials. Tea, coffee, and everything needed for a comfortable stay were readily available. Eddi and his friend were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Every morning they prepared a delicious breakfast for us, cleaned the rooms, and maintained the pool, ensuring everything was perfect throughout our stay. We experienced rain every night in Ubud, and it was magical. Sitting by the pool and listening to the rain while surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the villa was one of the highlights of our trip. The combination of outstanding hospitality, cleanliness, thoughtful amenities, and beautiful surroundings made this one of the best places we have stayed. We highly recommend Villa Palm Kuning and would happily return again.

The only minor downside was that the villa felt a little dark, as the lighting was quite dim, and the ceiling fans were slower than what we're used to. That said, we noticed this in several places around Bali, so it may simply be common there. Being surrounded by nature in Ubud also meant we could hear frogs and geckos at night, and we occasionally spotted geckos around the property. While this wasn't really the villa's fault and is part of the local environment, it took a little getting used to for someone who is easily startled by small creatures. Overall, these were very minor issues and did not take away from an otherwise wonderful stay.
