Overall, we had a great stay. The grounds, rooms and restaurants are all well maintained and clean. The buffet restaurant, Promenade, had a lot variety and I was please to see that the majority of the food was being made fresh. The hotel is situated in front of a lovely beach which is absolutely stunning, white sand and clear blue sea. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.
Although, there are three restaurants on site, the menus are all quite similar so you get more variety going to the buffet.
Throughout the day, the power cut out quite frequently which was a tad annoying. It never lasted more than 20 minutes but still inconvenient.
The lighting in the room and on the pathways is quite dim and made it particularly hard to see at night.

The dining at the hotel was exceptional. Dining hall staff were amazing, and the food was beyond our expectations. The staff on the beach were friendly and helpful in ensuring we were all comfortable and safe and happy.
I cannot fault anything at this stage besides our drive to the property late afternoon into the evening, which was scary.

The staff were exceptional they made our stay
Choices of food in the Promenade was good
Pool bar services excellent
Drink choices were very good
Room was very comfortable
K Abdul and Francis service was tops
Also manager Suneth at front desk very good
Hotel grounds are spotless and peaceful
The protein choices in the Promenade were mostly over cooked and dry
The speciality restaurants were dissappointing the food was bland and again a bit over cooked
We ate at all 3 speciality restaurants and same comment applies to all
What I really found disappointing is that the fact that Rui Palace had rebranded as a family hotel as opposed to adults only was not clear on the Booking.com website ...if I knew that we would
have booked at the new Rui Swahili instead

Waiters always making sure you good and if u need anything
No room service exists. No personal hygiene kits (comb, dental care, cotton buds etc). Requested a wake up call- nobody woke us up, requested baggy for checking out-no baggy arrived, had to carry our luggage up the hill. Couple cockroaches in the room
