Its a unique hotel in a very unique town. The rooms are within old buildings dating back hundreds of years that are full of character and history. I had a nice view over the courtyard. The hotel is situated within the centre of the old town so one is very close to many of the historical locations. One is also a short walk from trails leading into the Harz mountains. There is an excellent buffet style breakfast that starts at 07.00 so it is perfect if you want an early start to the day. The staff are all friendly and speak excellent English if you are worried about communication. There are many restaurants and pubs in the local area if you don't fancy the hotel's own excellent offerings.
I would have appreciated a fridge in the room and there was no hand lotion. My room did not have air conditioning - which was no problem at all in autumn but could be during a hot summer. Do ask for a ground floor room if you have mobility issues.

Excellent hotel located in the middle of the old town. Charming buildings and rooms with a lot of history. Great service and great breakfast. Convenient parking next to the hotel.

Beautiful old and charming hotel in a medieval, fairytale-like town. Nice restaurant and the breakfast was excellent. The room was okey.
No real A/C. Also, we got a room that we had not booked, the ”attic” room. We were not happy about that, but since we were only staying for one night, we didn’t bother taking it up with the staff. Had we stayed more nights, we would have asked to be assigned the room we originally booked.
