I stayed at Mellow for a night only on my last day in Ahangama. I was feeling unwell the day I arrived and everyone has been so kind and accommodating to find a spot for me to rest despite me arriving way ahead of check in time. Even outside of this, the hostel felt very welcoming and clean, and my room was comfortable, clean and had everything I needed. Location right at Kabalana was superb. I’ll definitely stay at Mellow again on my next trip, this time for longer 😊. Thank you!

The staff were super nice and helpful and there is an in-house cafe with discounted prices for hostel guests. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
The location is not beach front even tho it says so on booking.com which was a bummer because we really wanted a beach front location. But it was just across the street from the beach so it wasn't a big deal.

Convenience, safety, staff, and overall experience
Nothing too bad.. just that it’s not pet friendly as stated on booking.. cos there are two resident dogs who are a threat to guests pets

Good location, right next to Kabalana beach. The bathroom and shower was nice.
The doors to the rooms are super thin - they do not block any noise. Passing trains are very loud. No terrace in the one person room, you can't call a concrete doorstep a terrace. "Garden view" = some grass in front of the room. The room was right next to the common kitchen.
There was no common hang out area, hammocks or beanbags.
