Très facilement accessible en shinkansen depuis Tokyo, cet établissement offre un cadre magnifique, rien que le hall d’accueil donne le ton avec un petit court d’eau de chaque côté. Une décoration raffinée, un repas qui l’est tout autant. Le bain public avec la vue sur les montagnes verdoyantes et le ruisseau en contre bas est vraiment formidable. Nous nous sommes beaucoup amusés à faire le rally des tampons à travers l’hôtel et a voir notre chance avec un omikuji au sanctuaire momo (pêche en japonais) qui est dans ce ryokan. Le karaoké et la bibliothèque de Manga (en japonais) sont parfaits pour se détendre après le bain. Les chambres sont bien entendues impeccables. Mais la vrai différence c’est le sens de l’hospitalité, l’accueil et la gentillesse du personnel de ce ryokan. Même le patron est d’une extrême gentillesse et nous avons été très honorés qu’ils nous servent de guide au sein du ryokan. L’hospitalité japonaise est réputée, mais ici nous sommes a un niveau encore meilleur que dans les autres établissements que j’ai pu faire auparavant. Nous avons eu l’impression d’être traité comme des ambassadeurs ! L’expression japonaise « les clients sont des dieux. » prends ici tout son sens. Les mots me manque tellement tout le monde était serviable et gentil. Une experience bains et hospitalité japonaise à ne pas manquée !

The room was clean and comfortable. Dinner was also delicious, and private onsen was nice (although, water was EXTREMELY hot - be careful). Staff was friendly and serviceable.
The hotel has seen better days. You can tell there were glory days back in the day, but it felt like a ghost town inside. I assume Covid has taken a toll on the budget and something is got to give. Like the lack of water in the huge water fountain in the lower level, lack of a real bar service, the poor breakfast choices (specially if you are vegetarian or western).
