Once an elegant 19th Century home, the "Lauriston" as it was called then was converted into a hotel in 1933.

The room was worth the money. I only stayed one night and had to come back for emergency issues. However, the room was clean and tidy. A bit small but come on you can't expect a king size room in £40~.
The Only downside that I felt was the toilet, one side was the wall, one side was the walk in shower. I am XL, so I struggled,however, not the hotel's fault. Staff were really lovely and helpful, I reached the hotel very late, but the staff waited for us.
All the best. Will come back again.
Please check the toilet if you are XL like me, Won't have space to spread the world to wipe the future.

Breakfast is always excellent, and our room is a good size. As we are seniors, a member of staff took our case up to our room and down again when it was time for us to leave. The Chef who cooked our breakfast was very friendly. I would think that this hotel is cost effective for families and close to a bus stop for the M1, M2, etc and Bournemouth Square very walkable, Gardens, Seafront, Cinema and Theatre.
This is our third stay at this property, but we are finding the stairs a little difficult, as there is no lift to the rooms.
The bar closes at 8 PM.

Location and accessibility to park. Cheap and cheerful
The bedding, although clean, needs a hot wash as they were yellow. The carpet had stains on it and the window curtains were old. Sorely in need of updating.
