Just Right Cottage for my dog and I.
So relaxed, Rustic and Beautiful views.
I came with my Assistance dog. Felt she was very well accommodated too.😊
Tea, coffee, sugar and condiments provided. Kitchen was well equipped and clean.
Loved, weather wise, with table and chairs just outside front door. Lamppost in centre of courtyard, so the light at night allowed great visual with easy access.
Shower was large enough to be comfortable. Electric Towel Heater worked fast and more than enough.
At front of cottages a large field had a BBQ facility and a few benched tables, lotsa room for kiddies to play. With only 1 Entrance to Property at car park area so lots of space to keep children supervised. The laundry facilities wash machine and dryer with good capacities, providing an 'honesty box'.Due to adverse weather, my ferry home would not be running on day I wished. I spoke to Owner on phone who accommodated my situation. Relieving my anxiety about being stuck at ferry port and then trying to find accommodation for me and my dog 🐕
I do not drive, the taxi from bus terminal to Kilchrist Cottages cost £12.75p with Tavies Taxis. The young man helped me, dog and luggage to Cottage, happily 😊 much appreciated as I had been travelling for 6hrs.
As I am 70yrs old this month and Autistic (hence Assistance Dog) I felt Greatly relaxed here and Accepted. I would recommend here for a chilled out vacation. I did not feel I had to 'walk on eggs' and my doggie companion could really relax. If your looking for 'Glitter and Gloss' well, what you will get is Rustic and Perfectly Adequate.

Quiet and tranquil, a true Scottish escape!!
We loved the quiet isolation away from main roads. The cottage had everything we needed, and the beds were very comfortable. The walk in shower was ideal, almost new, with plenty of hot water. On the evenings we had access to all the tv streaming services which was a real surprise bonus on the couple of days when we had inclement weather. The local scenery was stunning, the locals welcoming and chatty. If you’re wanting to explore Kintyre, using the cottage’s as a base these are ideal.
This isn’t advertised as a 5 star property, you get what you’re paying for. The decor is a little dated and “tired’ but we enjoyed our stay immensely.
On our last evening, I walked into the kitchen area in bare feet and found the carpet was soaked with water. I suspected a leek from the adjacent bathroom. I did leave a note for the staff making them aware.

10 star 3 night stay in a lovely peaceful cottage.
The whole experience was great. Lots of help in changing dates due to family issues.
Nothing was too much bother for the hosts to deal with and accept our 2 changes in
booking dates. Very helpful. The cottage had everything and much more.
Had a wee problem with the shower, but having reported it, it was sorted within hours.
Great service and lots of contact from the hosts when needed.
Only 10 minutes into Campbelltown and very quiet area, so sleep was never disturbed.
10/20 drive to 3 local golf courses, and lots of potential fishing areas near the cottage.
My wife commented "A couple of wee flower pots either side of the main door, and a
wee table & 2 chairs outside would finish the place off nicely"
And of course, 70's home of Paul & Linda McCartney. Great history for Beatles/Wings
fans, and a Linda McCartney memorial garden in town, which is worth a visit.
Overall 10/10 + and we will be back.

This is our 3rd time here. We love the location and the peace that comes with it.
The whole place is being let down, which is an absolute shame. The field/picnic area was overgrown. The courtyard is overgrown and tired looking. The cat left its hunting trophy in the yard and not cleaned up. The cobwebs that were left in the cottage. The cooker not cleaned properly. The lack of cutlery, 1 teaspoon & 2 knives, no spatula. The lack of glassware. 3 mismatched wine glasses, no pint or halfpint glasses. (We left 2 pint glasses). The double bed feels like its about to collapse. Very disappointing to see this gem of a place go so far downhill. No sign of the caretakers or any form greeting from them either.
