We stayed in the A building, which I think is the newer building with the elevator. The rooms are cozy with comfortable beds. Bathrooms have good hot water.
The staff is very helpful and hospitable, top
tier for Uzbekistan. And in particular, the breakfast team! The food is fresh and delicious, and they clearly take a great deal of pride in their work, pointing out which things to sample and always making sure you have enough to eat. We missed the window for breakfast one day, and they even prepared some dishes just for us so we wouldn’t need to run out for food.
The sauna on the lower floor is a great bonus too.
I would stay here next I’m in Samarkand for sure. We stayed here two separate times - personal preference but I liked the rooms facing the street more (it’s a quiet street) because there’s more airflow.
This is not a real negative as it was handled fairly and professionally. On our second stay here the air conditioner broke down very late at night. It was unfortunate timing and the staff tried to fix it, but was unable to until the next morning when we checked out. They recognized it was a hassle and gave us a partial refund which we thought was more than fair.

Clean, nicely done rooms and excellent / helpful staff. Breakfast was varied and excellent.
Location and the costing. In my opinion the place is a bit costly.
