Our room was very convenient being in the courtyard, it was comfortable and nicely appointed. The bathroom was a bit dated but perfectly adequate and clean. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff really pleasant and helpful. we will stay here again being frequent visitors to Scotland,
The only problem for us was the fact that there was no lift and you had to negotiate stairs whichever room you stayed in. We managed but anyone needing a wheelchair would struggle.

I stayed about 3 years ago and this time, only recognized all the stairs and uneven floors. The upgrades to the hotel are fantastic. My room was clean and the bed and linen very comfortable. Nice, hot shower. Thanks.
The stairs are tough to manage with a heavy suitcase. But it's an old building so don't know what you can do about it. However, a lovely young lady (student in Edinburgh) carried my suitcase to my room. Very much appreciated

Evening meal awful. Waitress said. she woud tell kitchen staff but she never returned ,so when I went to pay bill told receptionist & no complaint through but deducted cost no bother! Apart from that all good
