Tolcarne beach village is stunning. Literally ON the beach! The style of the accommodation is very East Coast US colonial style - hence the restaurant is called the Colonial! The staff are friendly, the accommodation very clean and comfortable with everything you need away from home. It was great having 2 bathrooms for a family. Nice touch to have tea, coffee, hot chocolate and Nespresso pods, even oat milk sachets. The dog was very happy with her ball, towel and treats too. The views are breathtaking and the access to the beach unrivalled! It's in a great location for surfing and general beach access along with access to town and the surrounding areas.
The downside was the access is a little treacherous! It's a very narrow cliff side road that is also a footpath. There is no signage whatsoever telling you where to access the road and the pedestrians are less than impressed with you driving on what they perceived to be a footpath! I would say if you struggle with steps, heights or have any issues with mobility this is not for you! The anxiety inducing access road aside - there are 120 steps you can walk up!
The apartment was fab apart from the squeaky wooden single beds in the second bedroom.

The property is superb. The view is stunning, so beautiful and so peaceful, very restorative. The accommodations are well supplied for self catering needs but there are also opportunities to eat outside of the apartments. The use of the laundry facilities was a big plus since we are a family of seven.
I did not fully appreciate how narrow and steep the access was on the approach to the property and unfortunately we hired transportation that was too wide ( we had a party of seven and tons of luggage so felt we needed it. Next time we visit I will hire two separate vehicles to avoid the damage the rental van incurred.

We were allowed to check in early. The location on the beach was fantastic.
The beds and mattresses were awful in all the rooms. At over £1,000 for the weekend you expect the beds to be comfy. No hanging space in downstairs bedrooms.
